VISION 2030: A Fair and Equal Energy Sector: Our Strategy

We invite you to consider a world in which AXIS Network has achieved its mission: a fair and equal energy sector in Aberdeen and beyond. To make this vision a reality by 2030, we invite you to commit to and drive the following 7 steps, today.



  1. Join the AXIS Pledge: Commit to attracting, retaining and developing a diverse workforce.


  2. Leadership Commitment: Drive an inclusive culture with a clear understanding of the benefits of gender equity, diverse decision making and the business culture. Inclusion is valued as a core leadership trait with value placed on nurturing business cultures in which diversity thrives.


  3. Transparent Promotions and Performance Models: Tackle hidden or underlying systemic bias; ensure that they are applied fairly across the whole organisation.


  4. Sponsor Women and Men Equally: Promote the skills of a diverse range of individuals for consideration in new opportunities.


  5. Flexible Working for All: Regardless of who or what the flexibility is wanted for; recognise the value that engaged staff bring to the industry.


  6. Equal Parenting Policies: Bring paternity leave policies in line with maternity leave policies and encourage uptake.


  7. Return-ships: Encourage and facilitate those that have left the industry for caring responsibilities, ill health or other reasons, to return.

 

Vision 2030 is AXIS Network’s invitation to banish gender inequality by 2030. We call on all UK energy industry organisations to commit to Vision 2030 and the 7 steps above to achieve: better balance, and better business for all.
