We are pleased to kick off a new mentoring cohort and invite applications from all AXIS members to take part.
The AXIS mentoring programme offers an opportunity to develop strong partnerships within the industry, across disciplines and at all levels of career and expertise.
We welcome all genders to participate as either a mentee or a mentor.
We ask that all participants are subscribed members of AXIS, the scheme is otherwise free and available to all.
Developed to support participants in their diverse career journeys, mentoring support requests vary from those looking for guidance and support to those simply looking for some direction in areas ranging from changing roles, career growth opportunities, professional development considerations; including strategic thinking, individuals returning from a period of leave to conflict management advice.
To register your interest, please email mentoring@axisnetwork.co.uk. Please include the subject line ‘Mentoring Scheme – Cohort 2, 2023’ and include your name, contact details and whether you would like to take part as a mentor or a mentee.
For further details on the programme, including feedback from our 2022 cohort, please see below.
Applications close Friday 26 May.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Who is it for?
Anyone in the Energy Industry. Perhaps you are returning to the workplace after a period of leave, you have found yourself in a new role or you are self-employed. A mentee is a person who is advised, coached or guided by a mentor. Mentees should be open-minded, receptive to feedback and willing to try new approaches to learn and develop.
What is the commitment?
The programme itself will run from mid June until approximately mid December 2023. We expect pairs to meet a minimum of four (4) times during the programme (i.e., once every six (6) weeks). Participants are encouraged to meet on a more regular basis and agree what suits best. It is important that both parties are committed and involved during the process. It is intended that the mentorship through the AXIS programme will last for a period of six (6) months. Partnerships are at liberty to continue independently after the AXIS six (6) month programme if they should so wish.
Could you be a mentor?
All mentors are volunteers and come with a range of knowledge and experience.
A mentor is someone who is committed to provide a safe environment in which the mentee is encouraged to develop in new ways in their professional and personal life.
Mentors should be open minded, receptive to feedback and willing to try new approaches in order to provide support to the mentee in ways that are appropriate to that individual.
How do I sign up?
If you are interested in being a mentor or a mentee in the 2023 cohort 2, please register your interest by sending us an email, with the subject line ‘Mentoring Scheme - Cohort 2, 2023’ to mentoring@axisnetwork.co.uk Please include your name, contact details and whether you would like to take part as a mentor or a mentee. We ask that all participants are subscribed members of AXIS (register Home | axis (axisnetwork.co.uk); the scheme is otherwise free and available to all.
Applications close Friday 26 May. We look forward to hearing from you!
What happens next?
Once you have registered your interest, you will receive a short application form to complete. Your responses enable us to understand what your expectations of the partnership are and supports the mentor and mentee pairing. When matched, the mentor and mentee will first discuss the expectations and boundaries of the relationship and put this into a mentor agreement so that there is a mutual understanding from the start.
Launch event
To outline the key points of the programme and get everyone together there will be an informal launch event for Cohort 2, 2023 participants, in mid June 2023, which you will be encouraged to attend.
